I wrote this prior to starting Infinite Arts Studio I Today hit me hard. I drove to one of my go-to spots, a sanctuary where I could just plug in and dive into my creative zone. But guess what? It was gone! Vanished. Shut down.
Now, I’ve got my quirks. I like a space that’s a bit hushed, offers power outlets, serves a decent coffee or wine, and has waitstaff who get the balance between being friendly and giving space.
Teachers, you know what it’s like to have that perfect classroom setup, right? And parents, that go-to family-friendly restaurant that’s your saviour on hectic days? Artists, that studio space where your creativity flows like water?
Well, my spot was like that. I could walk in, get my head down in work and they’d serve up just what I needed to keep the creative juices flowing. A haven free of distractions, with clientele who got the vibe.
But today, it’s gone. And I’m back to square one, navigating the awkward dance of becoming a ‘regular’ somewhere new. It’s like the first day of school, or the start of a new workshop, all over again.
And you know what? That’s okay.
Change is a constant, whether we like it or not. Those who think, “Oh, this will never change”—you’re dreaming. Change isn’t just inevitable; it’s essential for growth.
Parents, that means embracing each stage your kids go through. Teachers, it’s adapting your methods to reach every student. Artists, it’s about stepping out of your comfort zone to try a new medium or technique.
So next time you’re savouring a family dinner, teaching a lesson, or lost in your art—take a moment. Think to yourself, “This will change someday, so let’s make the most of it now.”
Change is like the finale of a great artwork or the last day of school. Whether we’re ready for it or not, it’s coming. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. 😉
