Creative Studio Intensives

Wednesdays – 18 & 25 February, 4, 11, 18 & 25 March
12:30–2:30pm

This is structured as an IDEA Academy Studio Intensive rather than a shortened term program. It gives students access to a real, working art studio and a professional creative environment, and includes:

• Full access to a professional art studio
• Additional mentor time for students working on individual creative or business-focused projects
• All standard tools and materials
• Guided mentoring across the full creative process
• A strong focus on hands-on, industry-style drawing, design, and making

Students will work with Will Huntley, a professional artist and artistic training consultant with over 35 years in the arts, special effects, and creative education. Will’s mentoring approach is highly adaptable, meeting each student where they are and helping them push beyond what they thought possible.

Across the six sessions, students may explore:

• Character and creature design
• Drawing and concept development
• Sculpture and prop-making
• World-building and visual storytelling
• Translating ideas into tangible outcomes

Each student will be supported in choosing a focus that suits their interests—whether that’s designing a character, developing a prop, building a sculpture, or refining a visual concept. The goal is not just to make, but to think like a creator: problem-solving, refining ideas, and learning how professionals approach creative work.
